the bet

I'm 100 dollars down. I bet Kylie she couldn't make it through the pregnancy without caffeine. I even gave her hot chocolate, which she states she didn't touch. Anyway, I lost. I was thinking about giving her the $100 in waded up ones, but I didn't. I went to the bank and got a nice, crisp $100 bill. I'm not a sore loser. And I won't even post the picture--Kylie would K-I-L-L me for posting a picture of her "for all the world to see" on my non-password protected blog.

Let's just hope she doesn't tick me off. . . then that baby will be on here!!!

Quote of the day: "HEEEELLLLLLLLLLPP!"
What Lisa yelled with a seizing baby in the lobby. I have never heard her yell so loud and with such urgency. Nor have I run so fast, ever! My heart is still trying to settle down.

pictures of Cal

Hope you enjoy them. I'm not allowed to post any of Kylie per her request, but I thought you might like to see some visitors who came to meet him today.
Quote #1 of the Day: "He's out!" by Hadley Hall, the cousin.
Quote #2 of the Day: "I know how to wrap a good burrito." What Kevin said when I asked him how he learned to swaddle so well.
Quote #3 of the Early Morning: "I'm up!" What Drew would say while doing wheelies in the wheelchair--he fell 3 times and he thought he might need an xray of his elbow after one fall in particular.
Quote #4 of the Early Morning: Well, I don't think it's appropriate for the post. But there was a nice character we'll call "PARENT" who told us all about getting off an oil derrick in the Gulf, missing a Greyhound home to meet his new child, and loads of other oddities we found hilarious at 2am.

Cal

Cal is here!
Cal Edward Easterwood finally made his entrance at 3:02am April 26th, weighing 7 lbs 5 oz and 21 in long. Mom, Dad and baby are doing well. They had a long day and night but Kylie was amazing!! He’s got quite the cone head—he came out ‘sunny side up’. He’s got long fingers and toes, and big hands. He was very alert and looking around—calm and collected just like his dad. I think he looks like Kevin but with Kylie’s lips.
I'll post more pictures later.

weeds

My family and friends know I don't do well with living things. The Money Plant I was given as a housewarming gift didn't even make it 6 months. Well, I beg your pardon, because I am growing some N-I-C-E weeds in my yard. Oh, and the two plants that I put in the garage for the winter (thought I killed) have come back to life.

And the tulip bulbs I bought last fall, forgot about, found sprouting in my garage and planted on a warm day in February actually came up. And the OU pansies returned with a little TLC from Miracle Grow.

So there. I do have a green thumb!! Or my garage does.

Quote of the Day: "The GI doctor I saw for my colonoscopy told me my colon was upside down, or something like that."

My response: I had to leave the room before I started laughing right in front of her. Could you imagine: an upside down colon. I visualize her eating out of . . . I just can't say it. I have no idea what the doctor told her but how she got an upside down colon out of it . . . .

jogging??

So, I've decided I need to lose weight, none of my clothes fit. And my supposed-to-be loose scrubs are getting a little tight around the thighs. I've joined the ladies at work in their Weight Watchers, I got the old books out. I decided I didn't need to join because I've joined twice. I know what I need to do. It's just that doing it thing.

And I've decided I need to start jogging.

I had been contemplating the jogging idea when I heard a radio DJ (AIR1 106.5 FM/89.1FM in Tulsa) talk about starting a running program. A listener called in a told her about the "Couch to 5K" plan on coolrunning.com. So I got on, printed it off, and actually went running yesterday. Well, I ran for 60sec then walked for 90sec for a whole 20 minutes!! I'm so motivated. Rebecca is running with me, mostly in front of me, but it's nice to have a fellow partner.

Our plan is to run in the Tulsa Run's 5K this fall. I'm posting this so now I have to keep with it.

My other motivation: Ali from the Biggest Loser. Didn't she look AMAZING?? I want to be that buff and I don't need to lose 112 pounds. I think I can do it!!

I'll keep you posted . . . .

lampshade help

After I've lived in my new home for awhile, I realize I need some color in my life. I just can't live with beige all the time. I found some navy linen lamp shades but can't decide if I like them. (As you can tell, I haven't even taken off the plastic wrap. ) I need your help to decide if we like them or not. My other option would be spray painting the round shades, they are linen also. I like the navy idea, just not sure the shape is my favorite.
